Elko Mining Reverse Expo
Hosted by NNRDA and the Nevada Mining Association (NvMA), the Elko Reverse Mining Expo is becoming one of the hottest events in Elko drawing attention from all over the United States and the World. A “reverse” expo literally turns the tables on a standard exposition where vendors set up a display and market to potential clients. At a “reverse” expo, operators occupy a table or booth where vendors quickly pitch their product in a set amount of time (approximately 5 minutes). It has been described as the “speed-dating” of the procurement world. The benefit? Multiple vendors get an opportunity to speak directly with supply chain professionals who, in turn, can rapidly assess whether their company has an immediate need for the product and/or service. In Elko, we generally anticipate somewhere between ten and twelve tables. Prospective vendors request slots with desired operators by registering online via the Nevada Mining Association website. When registration opens, usually in late January, a link will be provided on the lower portion of this web page directing you to the appropriate NvMA registration site.
This year’s Elko Mining Reverse Expo event will be held March 17th, 2020.

NNRDA Biannual Board Retreat
At least twice a year, the NNRDA board gathers to brainstorm the various challenges and advantages associated with economic development within the region. Often times, a guest speaker is invited to provide insights and present a perspective from the “outside”. This event allows board members the opportunity to develop and align strategies that will hopefully result in economic wins throughout the region.
Trade Missions
Since 2016, NNRDA has participated in hosting multiple INBOUND trade missions to Northeastern Nevada. The missions not only foster trade relations between Nevada and the participating companies, they provide a two-fold element of opportunity for the region. First, participating companies are provided the opportunity to gauge the local market demand for their product, meet local officials and existing business that may compliment their operations, and analyze sites that may be suitable for their next expansion/relocation. Second, for those local Nevada companies who are considering doing business on a global scale, trade missions allow them to speak one on one with government officials who can provide insights to import regulations governing their home country. If you have not participated in a Trade Mission event, we encourage you to come out and join us when hosting one of these groups. We will post details regarding upcoming Trade Missions and events as they are planned.
Further, if your company would like to participate in an OUTBOUND Trade Mission, The Governor’s Office of Economic Development will often times provide funding to offset your cost of participation. NNRDA will post details and information regarding these outgoing Trade Missions as they become available.
